Comparison Reports

BPCLEtool allows you to compare the results of completed assessments with each other. This function can be used if you wish to:

  • Compare an assessment completed in one part of the organisation with an assessment completed in another part of the organisation. This would be useful if separate assessments are completed by different disciplines, work areas or facilities of the organisation.
  • Compare an assessment completed in one year to an assessment completed in another year. This would be useful for identifying where there have been improvements in the organisation from one assessment to the next.
  • Compare one or more assessments undertaken in your organisation with relevant de-identified data from across the state. This would be useful for determining how your assessment results compare to other similar organisations.

Reports involving the comparison of a single assessment (to either another single assessment from your organisation or to de-identified statewide data) are presented in graphical format on-screen and can be downloaded as a CSV file. Reports involving comparisons of multiple assessments are only available as downloads in CSV format. The downloaded data can then be imported into Excel to conduct further analysis.

There are four options available in the comparison report function of BPCLEtool:

(1) Compare one assessment to another within your organisation

Select the two assessments you wish to compare from the drop-down lists and click “Generate Report”. Note that the drop-down lists only include completed assessments.

Scroll down the screen to see the report that is generated. The top half of the report shows the overall comparison of the two assessments, while the lower half of the report shows the element-by-element breakdown. Click on the name of each element to reveal the relevant comparison.

(2) Compare one assessment to relevant results from across the state

Select the assessment you wish to run the comparison for from the drop-down list. Note that the drop-down list only includes completed assessments.

Use the Sector, Peer Group and Date selectors to filter the assessment results you wish to include in the comparison data. Note that a comparison report will only be generated from the selected parameters if there are at least five assessments in the comparison pool of data. An error message will appear if there is insufficient data in the BPCLEtool database to run the requested comparison.

The top half of the report shows the overall comparison of the assessment to the aggregated statewide results, while the lower half of the report shows the element-by-element breakdown. Click on the name of each element to reveal the relevant comparison.

(3) Compare multiple assessments within your organisation

Select the assessments you wish to compare from the drop-down lists. Note that the drop-down lists only include completed assessments.

Click “add another” to include additional assessments in the comparison.

Click “Download CSV” to generate the report.

You can also use this report to download the results for comparing one assessment to another within your organisation, by selecting only the two assessments you wish to compare.

(4) Compare multiple assessments to relevant results from across the state

An error message will appear if there is insufficient data in the BPCLEtool database to run the requested comparison.

You can also use this report to download the results for comparing one assessment to relevant results from across the state, by selecting the same assessment from both drop-down lists.
